Mathew 12:36 – But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Proverbs 23:7 – For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee
Isaiah 55:7 – “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him. . . .”
Philippians 4:8 – contains the apostle Paul’s suggestion about the content of our meditation: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, . . . just, . . . pure, . . . lovely, . . . if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.” He is saying that we have a choice in what we think about, either the good or the evil, so choose to think righteous thoughts because we are what we think. – Clyde Finklea
